Frydays Fish Bar Ltd
About This Spot
Step into Frydays Fish Bar Ltd and you’re greeted by the comforting rhythm of a true local favorite, nestled in the heart of London’s NW7 neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows just enough for you to savor a simple joy — a freshly cooked meal wrapped in warm paper, promising familiar satisfaction. The atmosphere carries the reassuring hum of friendly chatter and the soft crackle of sizzling batter, a quiet ode to a British tradition cherished by many.
There’s an unpretentiousness here, with a focus on the flavors that draw people back time and again. The generous portions of fish, from flaky cod to tender haddock, are cooked with care, each bite a reminder of the sea’s subtle freshness. Alongside these, there’s room for comfort in classic accompaniments — crispy chips that invite a dash of vinegar and salt, or battered prawns and calamari rings that hold their own with tender, golden crunch. This is a spot where the familiar meets craftsmanship, all under the watchful eye of a family who’s clearly passionate about their craft.
The experience at Frydays is less about a bustling dining room and more about a shared local moment — whether you’re grabbing a takeaway on the go or enjoying a casual, no-frills meal amid a straightforward setting. This family owned shop sells the best fish and chips in Hendon, Mill Hill, Edgware and Colindale areas. Fish is so tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this place for takeaway fish and chips.

Simple, nice fried fish and chips. Vinegar and salt only for the chips, slightly on the oily side, and the atmosphere isn't great for eat in, but takeaway is excellently simple.

Family run, best fish and chips in the area. £13.50 for a large fish and chips. And I mean large, could have split it into 2 meals. Fresh fish. Delicious

Been a while since last visited but got to say, very impressed with quality. Ordered large haddock which we really enjoyed including wife who is from north of the Watford gap and reckons all the chippys down south are useless and overpriced. Large Chips were great as well, plentiful and everything cooked to order. Well done frydays and well deserved awards!
